The Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock is lightweight and rugged.  The cheap price of the Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock is also a plus.  Make no mistake though, this stock isn't cheaply constructed. The Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock is easy to shoulder and doesn't experience any wobble (like many adjustable stocks suffer from).  You don't have to modify your buffer tube to experience this fixed stock (most fixed stocks are rifle length and require a rifle buffer tube). The Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock makes use of the carbine length buffer tube (extension receiver). The Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock has two inserts.  One insert makes the stock sit flush against the castle nut.  The other insert leaves a space between the stock and the castle nut so that you can use an ASAP (MAG500-BLK) or ASAP-QD (MAG529-BLK). If you'd prefer to mount a sling directly to the Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock, then you can either make use of the two sling loop cutouts or purchase a Type 1 QD sling swivel attachment (MAG333-BLK) if you'd prefer to use a QD Swivel (MAG540-BLK).  If you'd like to have a QD sling swivel attachment on both sides of your Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock, then you can add a Type 2 QD sling swivel attachment on the opposite side of the Type 1.
